Woodsball, Scenario, and Speedball are types of paintballs. Let us discuss, How to Play Woodsball, Scenario, and Speedball?
Origin of the Woodsball
The Woodsball game is actually the type of paintball game. In 1981, it was the first time playing in New Hampshire and in the woods. This is called a Woodsball game as it was played in the woods. Sometimes we called this game hillball or bushball to specify the area at which it was played.
How to play Woodsball?
Woodsball game as its name shows plays in the woods in a wide area and players have lots of hiding places to hide from the target of the opponent. This game is played between two teams in which one team targets the other team members by striking them with paintballs.
Players get lost the game if he is hit by the paintball. No specific time is there to end up the game. It may end up within ten minutes or sometimes it takes hours to be finished.
The time of the game depends upon the two factors
1-Area in which you are playing
If you are playing a Woodsball game in the wider area it will take hours to be finished as players have a lot of space to move ahead and hence it takes time to defeat the opponent team members. But If you are playing this game in the smaller region you can easily tag the opponent team members and hence the game is finished within ten minutes.
2- playing style
If the game is too competitive it takes minutes to be closed. But, if you are playing with the comfort it may last up to hours.
3-Number of players:
The length of the time also depends upon the team members. For example, a game that is playing between five thousand players will take much time as compared to a game that has only two thousand players.
However, you can play this game with ten players. So it takes just minutes to be ended up. It means you can enjoy this game with your friends as well!
Size of the barrel
Most players play with a barrel having more than sixteen inches in length. It is because a long barrel is required to shoot the opponent from the woods.

The Scenario is the second kind of paintball game. It is also known as Mil-Sim aka military simulation. It is a Scenario game because it has a structured plot or Scenario. It is played on a larger scale and has a large number of players and a big area to play in.
In a Scenario game, the player’s objective is not only defeating the players but also have to the game contest a large number of series of events that a team has to win. The storyline maybe like this:
- Take THE FLAG:
A flag is placed at the base of every team. If you grab the flag and reach it to your base then you will win the game. Remember that defend your flag is compulsory to win the game.
- BULLDOG — CENTRE FLAG GAMES:
In the middle of the area, a flag is placed and every team has seen it easily. If you hold the flag and reach it at the base of your opposite team you will win the game.
- SHOOT THE GENERAL:
Instead of grabbing the flag plyers hit the general of the team. Every team has one general. If, you hit the general of the opposite team you will win.
The area you need to play Scenario:
Just like a Woodsball game, it is played in a wider area. However, it totally depends upon the Scenario or plot that you have set to win or play the game. For a small Scenario, you need an area of few acres and if you have set a large storyline, an area of hundred acres is required.
The third type of paintball is Speedball. This game is played in smaller areas of the size of about twenty thousand squares feet which is smaller than that of Woodsball and Scenario. Since this game is played at a pretty smaller region as compared to that of Woodsball and Scenario so it is a quick game that’s why it is called Speedball.
Here, in the Speedball game players hide behind the bunkers instead of behind the trees, buildings used in the Woodsball. Bunkers are inflatable hinders that protect the players from being hit by the paintball. Bunkers are available in different designs. These are named Tombstone bunker, Soda Canbunker, Snake bunker.
How to play Speedball?
The paintball team consists of different numbers of plyers but commonly it is played between three, five, seven, and ten. This team is played quickly in the given time.
- You have ten seconds to run and hide behind the bunker.
- After ten seconds you will target your opponent as it is the best time to eliminate your opponent as everybody is moving and running to hide and protect himself from the paintball.
